How to book a driving test

You can book your test at any time as long as you provide a notice of 3 clear working days. The test can be booked by phone, fax, and post or online. You will need certain items to hand when booking the test which should include:

Online or Phone

Your driving licence that should be currently in force

Provide the certificate number on your theory test

A credit or debit card

Phone on any working Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm on the following numbers:

Practical test booking line - 0300 200 1122

Welsh language booking line - 0300 200 1133

Minicom booking line - 0300 200 1144

Fax booking line - 0300 200 1155

Post

The above are required but you will need to obtain an application form which can be downloaded direct from the Driving Standards Agency. (This does include a special needs form if required) Payment is usually made by postal order or cheque.

If by chance you have to cancel or reschedule your test, you can do this by any of the above methods, but you must give at least 3 working days notice, to make sure the fee is retained for your next date or reimbursed. Failure to inform the DSA within the 3 working days will result in the loss of your fee.
