THE EXPORT SCAM
This vehicle scam has become increasingly more common nowadays. This scam is commonly referred to as the West African advanced fee vehicle (or 419) scam although often criminals are based in the USA or Holland.
The first sign you have been targeted by a con artist is if you receive an email full of spelling mistakes from a buyer who is willing to pay the full asking price to you for the car. The buyer will send a Bankers Draft and the seller will send the shipping costs to the buyer. Unfortunately the Bankers Draft will usually be forged and so you have lost the car, the shipping costs and the money for the car.
