SPEED LIMITS
The maximum speed limits for cars towing caravans or trailers (this includes car-derived vans and motorcycles) are set out below:
Built-up areas 30 mph (48 km/h)
Single carriage-ways 50 mph (80 km/h)
Duel carriage-ways 60 mph (96 km/h)
Motorways 70 mph (96 km/h)
It is always good advice to reduce the above speeds limits in certain conditions for example:
The condition of the road and layout could be hazardous such as bends.
Built up areas where there maybe pedestrians, people riding horses, especially children, cyclists and motorcyclists
The weather aspect makes it safe to do so.
Night time driving as this can prove sometimes difficult to see other road users
